All my attempts were unsuccessful except this last as from It worked. I can find windows powershell with the search, but when I click delete it says it is in use and cannot be deleted. It does not show up in the list of updates at all, nor does the update number it supposedly came in with.
Do I have to systematically check each of about updates and the s of items that came in with each to get this pest out of my system so I can run a repair download of XP again? Will windows 7 load over this or will it do the same thing too? The attempt to load a repair XP with this still in the system was a disaster. I wish someone with a better OS would come along and put MS in the corporate grave yard with Edsel where they belong.
Yes it was too simple but it worked for me too. After that I was able to delete the folder and the Windows Repairs was able to get past the Compatibility Check. I used a mixed aproach: -deleted the powershell key in the reg -deleted the KB keys in the reg -deleted the powershell folder in system32 -reinstalled powershell 1.

I have managed to remove it and installed version 2! Thanks Reply. Greetings, there happened the same and what they have to do is something very simple is to uninstall the Windows Update Core Management Framework, which appears after upgrading to Windows Server SP2 and R2 Reply.
